Wise Thoughts On First Team

What a difference a week makes! Since my column we have gained two good results, firstly a 3-1 home victory against Warminster Town F.C. which was exactly what we deserved from the game. Luke Woodland grabbing two goals and a late strike from captain Dan Wise wrapped up the win. During this game we handed a western league debut to young seventeen year old midfielder Max Hinds, max has been pushing in the reserves for a call up and has been getting rave reviews from Ralphy on an almost weekly basis and what a great debut he had for us. Max showed maturity beyond his years in his ball retention, having a big part in a goal, playing well throughout and his off the ball work rate helped the team defensively as well throughout the full ninety minutes. We made a few changes for this game with Connor Williams returning to his usual striker position, Brett Cotterill coming into the midfield with Max and Dan and Gary Chapman coming in at left back and it seemed to work wonders. Following this strong result we gained a credible 0-0 draw on Tuesday night at home to Longwell green, we had chances to win the game but I think both sides would have come away feeling a point was a fair result and it was also nice to keep our first clean sheet of the season. This Saturday we travel to Bishop Sutton, where we hope to continue our run before it is a break in the league and a midweek trip to Ashton and Backwell in the Somerset premier cup. All support as usual hugely appreciated 🐝
