Message from Manager

We haven’t picked up a win since my last managers blog, losing to top of the table Keynsham 1-2 at home before drawing two games 1-1 on the bounce to Calne and Radstock. Saturdays game against Radstock was one where we certainly had enough of the play to take all three points but it took another Marcus Cook goal (in the 92nd minute I should add!) to gain us a point on the day, and when you consider we lost the opening day fixture at Radstock 1-4 it shows we have grown and improved as a squad. Marcus’ finish was another top goal and his 13th of the season, it really has been a fantastic return from Cookie and his goals have been huge for us this season, even with cookies 13, we are the 4th lowest scorers in the league, which tells you how much we have become reliant on him. We need our other attacking players, Connor Williams (0) Matt Morley (4) Tom Morris (1) to name a few to start chipping in with goals now if we are going to have the successful season that we think and believe we still can, there is too much ability in our squad for us to be the 4th lowest scorers. At the other end it has been individual errors that have cost us, we have defended well as a unit and not been broken down too often this season, the signing of Liam Norris in goal has been a fantastic acquisition for us and has made such a difference to us defensively. This Saturday we face Bishop Sutton away, they have been doing well recently and this will be a tough game, we lost 1-2 at home earlier in the season, we were 1-0 up through a Marcus Cook goal (who else) and then two individual errors from our goalkeeper at the time cos us all three points. All support for this away trip would be appreciated as we seek our first win in three, or look to remain unbeaten as of the last two, whichever side of the fence you are on.........
