The last month of the domestic season for Wincanton saw them welcome a Welton Rovers to Moor Lane as they try to get back to winning ways following one defeat and a draw on the road recently.
The first half was a goalless encounter with Wincanton getting the better of the chances but failing to finish off any opportunities with the score remaining at 0-0. The second half saw Welton Rovers come out the stronger side and they soon took the lead through a strike on the 56th minute. This scuppering any momentum that Wincanton had from their dominant first half performance. They then had another set back with just over 20 minutes remaining when Welton doubled their lead making it 2-0. This put the game to bed against the favour of Wincanton and despite a late strike from substitute Luke Williams, Wincanton could not manage the comeback as the game ended 2-1 in the favour of Welton Rovers/
This defeat sees Wincanton sees them only pick up 1 point in their last three but they have a good long break before an important top half clash against Chard Town at Zembard Lane on what will hopefully be a very Good Friday.
*DON'T FORGET!!! The kick off for the Chard Town game on Good Friday (14th April) is a 13:00 kick off!
