Following Tuesday's defeat on the road at Devizes, the wasps welcomed Calne Town to Moor Lane for a mid-table clash in the Toolstation Western League Division One.

Calne Town, who also come into the game following a defeat, took the lead after 15 minutes when Russell Lodge managed to find the net to put them in the driving seat. But Wincanton came back strong quickly when Connor Williams found the end of a Dan Wise free kick to bring the game back level. This then gave Wincanton the momentum to continue pushing as they began to look favourites. Just before half time the pressure Wincanton were putting on Calne finally paid off when Connor Williams managed to find the end of another Dan Wise ball this time from a corner. This gave the wasps a positive ending to a good half performance from them.

The second half saw them come out the better side as it only took three minutes for Connor Williams to make it 3-1. It only took a few more minutes before it was 4-1 when Tom Morris found space on the edge of the box to hit a shot only for the keeper to get a weak hand to it and bounce in. Then the game was put well and truly to bed when two goals from sub Luke Williams and one from Matt Morley within five minutes made it 7-1 before Calne went down to 10 men following a second yellow to defender Daniel Smith.

That was the end of goals for Wincanton as they get back to winning ways in style although they do not make any progress in the league and stay in 7th with two points between the wasps and 6th placed Bishops Lydeard.
