The Wasps had a tough test as Hengrove were the next visitors to Moor Lane in the Toolstation Division One. A game that both teams needed to get something out of to bounce back from defeats in their previous games.

It was the home side who had the better start as within the first 3 minutes Wincanton troubled the Hengrove defence but they managed to keep it out of the net. However, the next attack they couldn't keep out of the net as Lewis Voizey managed to get his head on the end of a dangerous ball into the box to put them 1-0 up inside 5 minutes. Quickly after a superb acrobatic save from the Hengrove keeper denied Wincanton from doubling their lead. This was when Hengrove made their move. They were a penalty on 14 minutes which was slotted into the bottom right to the despair of James Stewart who nearly got his hand to it. Then the momentum was in Hengrove's favour as they soon snatched another. A well timed ball over the top was superbly hit across the goal into the side netting to put Hengrove 2-1 up. Hengrove then looked the favourites to snatch another as they were denied by a good save from James Stewart and a shot that just went over. The half ended to the relief of the Wincanton players as Hengrove looked the side on top.

The second half was started well by the away side as within 3 minutes they had extended their lead to make it 3-1. A mix up between defender and keeper allowed the striker to pass it into an empty net. But Wincanton weren't giving up yet. A header just over the crossbar from a Dan Wise free kick was swiftly followed by a shot from the captain 18 yards out that was spilt by the keeper and only fractionally evaded the goal line. Wincanton then went down to 10 men following a red card to Andy Mitchell, Hengrove then tried to put the game to bed with a long range shot but it was comfortably dealt with by James Stewart. Then Wincanton went down to 9 men after Gary Chapman denied a goal scoring opportunity the following free kick was deflected off the wall and into the bottom corner to put Hengrove 4-1. With 10 minutes left of the game Wincanton were well and truly up against it. Hengrove had the best chance within that time when they were denied a 5th goal as they struck the post. But it didn't make a difference because soon after the final whistle went to bring the game to an end with the score being 4-1 to Hengrove.

Following  Welton Rover's win against Bishops Lydeard, Wincanton dropped down a place to 18th remaining on 8 points.
